Rock crystal comes in all shapes, sizes and quality. Only the very clearest pieces can be used to make objects. A jug of this size required a pristine chunk of at least 25 centimetres in diameter.

Ovale kan van bergkristal op een lage voet en met een hooggeplaatst oor. Montuur van goud met email. Het naarboven wijduitlopende achtlobbige vat is versierd met guirlandes, vruchtentrossen, draken en ranken.
