Floral evening coat

In the 1930s, a in a difference in length between everyday and formal wear was introduced. Short skirts during daytime, while those worn in the evenings often reached down to the ground. This coat is made with a coarser fabric reminiscent of that used for upholstery. A family tradition holds that Jonkvrouw H.M.A.F. Six wore the coat over floral evening dresses.

    Avondmantel van gobelinstof van katoen, met terra bloemen op een beige fond. Stof in ripsbinding, bloemen in keperbinding. Model: lang, getailleerd en iets wijd uitlopend. Vier rug- en vier voorpanden, waarvan twee met coupenaden. Sluiting met zeven grote stofknopen. Kleine staande boord. Gladde lange kopmouwen met plooien ingezet. Beige voering met binnenzak. Patroon: drie verschillende terrarode met geel of zwart gemêleerde bloemen aan slingerende stengels met grijsgroen blad en trosbloemen en trosbessen.
