Water is shown in the background and mountains loom in the distance. Attached to the painting is an inscription with the text: It is an old place, with many high trees. Someone approaches on foot singing quietly. The courtyard opens, the bronze lock gives reluctantly. Light shines through the doorway onto the green bamboo. The beauty of the mountains remains in view, The call of the crane lingers on in the lute's sound. Who would I recognize on my journey, The young deer in the forest there? Zhang He.
