Abstract-futurist Composition

In 1912-1913 paintings by Italian Futurists were exhibited in various Dutch cities. Their picturing of movement with ‘lines of force,’ as they called them, was unprecedented. While Futurism became a hype in the newspapers, it found less resonance among Dutch artists. An exception was the Gouda ceramist and painter Chris Lanooy.
