De troepen van Lodewijk XIV, koning van Frankrijk voor Naarden, 20 juli 1672. Linksvoor enig struikgewas. Op de vlakte de ruiters en voetsoldaten van het Franse leger. In de verte de stad Naarden omgeven door bastions. Het schilderij is onvoltooid.
