Untitled (Red, Green and White Circles)

Marlow Moss, c. 1940

These coloured circles seem to move in space separately from each other. For Moss, the importance of change and movement was paramount. ‘Art is as – Life – forever in the state of Becoming.’ the artist wrote. The sense of motion was also expressed in a number of sculptures with undulating metal rods and round spheres. This drawing may be related.
