A woman who does not shave her body hair is considered ungroomed, and behind the times. Kooi calls this view into question. Why can armpit or pubic hair not be considered as an integral and beautiful part of the female body? She drew delicate halos around her hairy armpits in the photograph of her naked torso. Together with her raised, bent arms they form the silhouette of a butterfly.
