Portret van de kunstenaar met het hoofd iets scheef, piekerig haar over zijn voorhoofd, zijn kin steunend op zijn rechterhand, gekleed in een zwarte coltrui. Haren, ogen, neus, mond en hand zijn met zwarte strakke lijnen getekend over een schetsmatig opgezette tekening.
