Chinees drakenbootfeest. Volgeladen boten varen op een breed water, op de oevers bevinden zich toeschouwers. Rechts in de hoek een groep deftige Europeanen onder een pajong, op de achtergrond zijn grachtenhuizen en een stenen boogbrug te zien. Boven en onder staat een opschrift.

• inscription: ‘de meesten die hier zijn dan zijn Sinezen om te zien of het wel gaet want sij hebben daar groot pleisier in want sommige varen met (?) scharmeijen en de groote praeuwen met de gomgom’
• inscription: ‘deze tack daer de witte waajer aan hangt is bamboes de welcke bladeren heeft als de willege bladeren en dese tack steeckt in twee a drie dicke pisangstammen dewelcke no(c)h groen of geel sijn’
