Surface K.Y

Ayomi Yoshida (mentioned on object), 1987

As the youngest member of a family of printmakers, Ayomi Yoshida wants to pursue her own path while upholding the family tradition. She uses the woodcut technique in innovative ways, as seen in these prints, which exhibit an almost painterly quality. Inspired by photographs that she took of a particular section of the river, Yoshida was captivated by the influence of time and weather on the colour of the water’s surface.
