Untitled (Zwei Weibliche Akte) (Two Female Nudes)

Alexander Archipenko (signed by artist), 1922

The Russian artist Alexander Archipenko, active in Paris, made an impression on his audience with his sculptures in the 1910s. Alongside fierce sculptures composed of colourful pieces of painted wood, iron, and textile he exhibited stylized Cubist nudes with fluent contours. In his graphic art he concentrated equally on female nudes, which he arranged in various poses in difficult to determine spaces.
