The Coal Mine

Frank Brangwyn (Sir) (signed by artist), 1905

Many of Brangwyn’s prints manifest great compassion with the underprivileged. The destitute, beggars, as well as construction labourers, haulers, and mineworkers play a prominent role in his etchings. This dramatic print shows a group of mineworkers carrying away a mate who has been injured at work.
