De sjofar is een blaasinstrument dat in de joodse eredienst wordt gebruikt. Dit exemplaar is volgens de overlevering afkomstig van de synagoge op de jodensavanne waar de broers Jozef en Isaac Nahar aan het eind van de 18de eeuw bazuinblazers waren.
