Spotprent op de Italiaanse verliezen in de slag bij Adowa op 1 maart 1896 tijdens de oorlog met Ethiopië (Abessinië). Centraal verliest de Italiaanse koning Umberto I bijna zijn kroon in de wind, rechts ligt verslagen op de grond de Italiaanse premier Franceso Crispi. Links in de wolken de zegevierende Ethiopische Negus. Verschenen in de bijvoegsel van 'De Kroniek' van 15 maart 1896.
