Ornamental cabinet with biblical motifs

An ornamental cabinet with four doors was the showpiece of an interior. The three figures on the upper section represent the principal Christian virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity. The two doors of the upper section are decorated with scenes from the Old Testament story of Susanna, who resisted the advances of two elderly men.

    Kast van eikenhout, versierd met ebbenhout, z.g. beeldenkast. De drie stijlen van de bovenkast zijn versierd met kariatiden, die Geloof, Liefde en Hoop verbeelden. Het fries is rijk versierd met rankwerk, waartussen tritons en twee cartouches met links de H. Joris en rechts Marcus Curtius. De zuilen van de onderkast dragen Korintische kapitelen. De twee deuren zijn versierd met voorstellingen uit de geschiedenis van Suzanna. Op het middelladefries zijn jachttaferelen afgebeeld.
