Signal 1 and 2, Carel Visser, 1963 - 1964
Carel Visser designed these abstract sculptures for an office of the Postcheque- en Girodienst in The Hague. They marked the unassuming entrance. By rotating the identical sculptures 180 degrees, Visser created a complex visual play with planes and volumes. The lead cladding and bare concrete of the pedestals matched the brutalist architecture of the now demolished office building.
