Tile picture. Earthenware. The Hague, Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg, 1892 - 1893, designed by Georg Sturm, decorated by Daniel Harkink. This trial piece for the tile pictures on the outside of the Rijksmuseum was considered technically unsuitable, the choice falling on that made by the firm of Villeroy & Boch of Mettlach. This version was mounted above the entrance to the Drawing School adjacent to the museum building. Acquired with support of Christie's Amsterdam on the occasion of the departure of Professor H.W. van Os as Director General of the Rijksmuseum, 1996.

    Tegeltableau met de drie gratiën: onder een poort die gedekt wordt met een driepasmotief zien we ter weerszijden van de naakte Waarheid met haar klassieke haartooi en de zon der gerechtigheid als nimbus achter haar hoofd, de jonge vrouw Schoon met een bloemenkroon op haar hoofd en de wat rijpere vrouw Goed met korenhalmen gevlochten in haar haar. Terwijl Waar haar arm om Goed slaat, wordt deze betrokken bij Schoon via de banderol met het opschrift IN MIJ IS ALLE GRATIE DES LEVENS ENDE WAARHEID. IN MIJ IS ALLE HOOP DES LEVENS ENDE DER DEUGD. Gesigneerd: r.o. Rozenburg den Haag K (jrl.=1893); l.o. Georg:Sturm inv:1892/D Harkink pinx. Op de achterzijde van elke tegel in reliëf ROZENBURG/DEN HAAG. Beschildering onder loodglazuur in beige en bruin.
