Guanyin

anonymous, c. 1720 - c. 1750

Through the VOC's worldwide trading activities blanc de Chine found its way to Europe. Factories in Delft and in the German city of Meissen imitated the white porcelain, as demonstrated by this figurine. The European imitator may have used as his model the Guanyin by the famous Chinese potter He Chaozong.
