The Rijksmuseum’s furniture collection features a superb and extensive selection representing Dutch interior design through to the 19th century. It also contains many exceptional items of French, German, Southern Netherlandish, Italian and English origin, mainly from the 17th and 18th century: chairs, sofas, chests, beds, tables, desks and even complete interiors. Many of these items of furniture are from the Mannheimer collection.
Three familiar favourites are the valuable and completely furnished dolls houses. In addition, the Rijksmuseum boasts a large textile collection, including tapestries and carpets as well as interior textiles, such as wall hangings.
