Photomicrographs of Paper Fibres
anonymous, 1900
For science, photography was a useful tool for supplementing or refuting what could be observed with the human eye. The camera, after all, saw more than the eye, and the photographic plate had a better ‘memory’ than man. By combining a microscope and a camera, tiny objects could also be studied closely.
