This memorial chain honours the friends of jewellery designer Paul Derrez and his husband Willem Hoogstede who died from the effects of AIDS. The chain was never intended to be worn as jewellery, but forms a powerful reminder of this dark and uncertain period. The last link bears a hopeful message: dare to love.
