Greetings from Idar-Oberstein 18

Plastic from packing material is incorporated in this brooch. Ute Eitzenhöfer processed this material in such a way that it no longer resembles plastic. She works and teaches in the town of Idar-Oberstein, Germany’s gemstone centre. Naturally, such stones should be wanting from the brooch. The colours and structure of various types of quartz and agate contribute to the design and do not represent traditional ornamentation.
