Gordel van verguld zilver, bestaande uit vier langwerpige en drie kleinere delen met renaissance-ornament in reliëf, onderling verbonden door niet vergulde schakelkettingen. Op de uiteinden gemerkt: meesterteken CC in ovaal.

In the early seventeenth century silver belts must have been a regular component of Dutch households; quite a few are mentioned in probate inventories and other sources. This example differs from the regular German production in the ornament used; whole worlds are interwoven in its complex mannerist scrolls. Antwerp artists excelled in this design. Through objects and printed sources the fashion spread quickly, and was almost immediately taken over by goldsmiths everywhere. Dirk Jan Biemond, 4-07-2019.
