"The People's Republic of China is celebrating her thirtieth anniversary in 1979. Over the past thirty years the electronics industry in new China, owing to the hard work of its staff and workers has developed from small repair service and assembly workshops into a major industry with the raw material for production coming mainly from domestic supplies. Gradually has become an important branch of the national economy for the supply of advanced technical equipment. The staff and workers in the electronics industry, displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and hard work, have continuously promoted their own creative power while studying the advanced expertise of other nations. China can now design and turn out various kinds of electronic components, semiconductors, electro-vacuum devices, ICs, electronic instruments and meters as well as radar, communication and navigation, broadcasting and television quipment and computer systems. Certain sophisticated items such as the IC digital computer, high power broadcasting transmitter, electronic exchanges, atomic frequency standards, earth station for satellite communication have been developed and made in China. China's electronic technique has been effectively applied to nuclear tests and the launching and recovery of man-made satellites. This album, China's Electronics Industry, can only outline some of the achievements of the electronics industry in new China. Compared with the level of attainment of other developed nations, China's electronics industry still lags behind. The staff and workers in the electronics industry have committed themselves to speed up its development and seek to scale to new heights in this field.
