Gunlock (Flintlock)

Entry

Right-handed gunlock (flintlock) with brass box and iron mechanism, cock and pan cover.

It has a pin at the forward end and a hole for a bolt in the middle for mounting. The trigger has a lanyard.

Flintlocks for cannon were introduced by the Dutch Navy after 1810. This type was replaced by percussion locks around 1840.
