Daniëls perceived the abstract etchings under the felttip pen drawings as a decor for various scenes. Along with the figures in the foreground, the beholder observes all that is transpiring on the opposite side of the street. In a few instances the direction of view seems reversed. The drawings evoke associations with film images, or rather, with sketches for a storyboard.
