Stadholders’ Gate, Binnenhof
anoniem, c. 1600
Several fragments of the Stadholders’gate, originally from the Binnenhof in The Hague, have been placed on the back of the German House Gate. The stadholder’s quarters were above this gate, which was for his exclusive use. The passageway was also called the Middenpoort, because it was the middle gate of three closing off the Binnenhof.
