Ornamental Collar with Wedding Dress
Emmy van Leersum, 1974
In the late 1960s aluminum was a favourite material for designers like Emmy van Leersum. A series of ornamental aluminum collars with matching dresses was exhibited in Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum in 1967. This collar was sold a few years later and its owner had Van Leersum specially design a wedding dress to go with it. She was married wearing this ensemble in the summer of 1974.
