Wooden construction model of part of a keel, the sternpost and a jury rudder.
The central spindle is composed of four parts, held together by the pintles and by wooden pegs. For this the pintle straps are joined at the back. The hooks of the pintles are loose and inserted through holes in the pintles. The back piece is incomplete.
Obreen describes this model as a Spanish design.3J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 227. This model, or model number 226 (now lost), was part of the private collection of Jochem Pietersz Asmus (1755-1837) in 1807.4HNA 2.01.29.02 Dept. Marine, Aanhangsel I, inv. no. 20, La. F no. 33.
