writing (processes), h 113mm × w 76mm × t 40mm More details

The manuscript was probably compiled for novices of a Dutch Augustinian monastery. A print of the face of Christ was pasted on a page that was intentionally left blank, as an incentive to prayer and meditation. The Christ type in this hitherto unknown engraving closely resembles painted versions by the Flemish masters Rogier van der Weyden and Dirck Bouts.

This work belongs to Face of Christ (RP-P-2014-11)
