Detail model of the roofing of a covered slip.

The model shows the wooden construction of a covered slip and is partly roofed with zinc plates.

In 1822 it was decided by the Dutch Navy that all covered slips would be roofed with zinc.1HNA 2.12.01 Min. Marine, Exh. 27/5/1822 N7.
