Three Blocks and a Luff Tackle

Drie blokken en een derdehandstakel volgens de voorschriften van 1865. Het eerste blok is een tweeschijfs gordingblok met dubbele ijzerdraad strop en ijzerdraad bindsel en een ronde kous. De tweede is een 26 cm tweeschijfs blok met ijzerdraad strop met korte splitsen; het bindsel is van leer en het blok heeft een ijzeren kous en een perkamenten etiket met opschrift. De derde is een 26 cm tweeschijfs granaatblok met ijzerdraad strop; het bindsel is van touw, het blok heeft een ijzeren kous en een haak. De derdehandtalie bestaat uit een enkel- en een dubbelschijfsblok, het vaste part aan de strop van het enkele blok bevestigd; beide blokken hebben een ijzerdraad strop met ijzerdraad bindsel zonder splitsen, een ijzeren kous en een haak. Entry

Three blocks and a luff tackle in accordance with the regulations of 1865.

The first block is a 16 cm double brail block with double metal strapping and with spliced metal seizing and an iron thimble. The second is a 26 cm double block with iron strapping with spliced metal seizing in leather lashing and an iron thimble; it has a parchment label with inscription. The third is a 26 cm double block with iron strapping in rope lashing and with rope seizing, an iron thimble and an iron hook. The luff tackle consists of a single and a double block, the standing part attached to the strap of the single block; both blocks have metal strapping with metal seizing without splicing, an iron thimble and a hook.

The 16 cm block was made at the Navy dockyard of Flushing, the 26 cm blocks at Willemsoord in Den Helder and the tackle at Hellevoetsluis. The tackle was subsequently tested with a load of 500 Dutch pounds, raised 1 metre and released slowly by snubbing the tackle. The original inventory mentions another 16 cm double block,1J.M. Obreen et al., handwritten inventory list for items 944 to 1431, 1884, manuscript in HNA 476 RMA, inv. no. 1089, no. 1177. which has not been found.
