Vacuum Gauge

Vacuummeter bestaande uit een ronde wijzerplaat gemonteerd op een kraan. De wijzerplaat heeft een wijzer en een schaal lopende van nul tot tachtig. Het mechanisme binnenin bestaat uit een platte buis, die langs de buitenkant van de behuizing is gebogen en krult of ontkrult op de vacuumdruk, en een klein raderwerkje dat de beweging van de buis op de wijzer overbrengt.

Entry

Vacuum gauge consisting of a round dial mounted on a cock.

The dial has a pointer and scale ranging from 0 to 80. The mechanism inside the dial casing consists of a flat tube bent along the outside of the casing, which scrolls or unscrolls according to the vacuum pressure, and moves the pointer via a system of levers and a gear train.

This instrument was probably added to the Navy Model Room in 1863.
