Photographs, like the ones the Dutch photographer Théodore van Lelyveld took for his publications, are used by the C. Kersten & Co firm in Paramaribo to create a series of postcards. This one is part of an album of 68 cards from Suriname that were collected as a souvenir of a stay in the country in September 1911.
