Coat with embroidered bouquets, Anonymous, c. 1775 - c. 1800
This coat is made out of velvet with a green nap - the pile - on a pale pink ground. The embroidered bouquets on this coat appear to be held together with sequin bows. The fabric was embroidered before it was cut into a coat. Evidence of this is to be found on the collar and the chest, where different sections of embroidery are patched together.
