Walking stick
anonymous, c. 1795 - c. 1805
Vines, from which grapes grow, are warped (twisted) by nature. This walking stick, made from such a vine, was not intended for support during walking. Rather, it was a fashionable accessory to attract attention. The use of ivory and buffalo horn for the handle show that this was an expensive purchase.
