Room from Nieuwe Gracht 74 in Haarlem. This room was created in 1793 and succeeding years for the merchant and art collector Willem Philip Kops (1755 - 1805), as an addition to his town house in Haarlem. It was designed by the Amsterdam architect Abraham van der Hart (1747 - 1820). The white marble chimneypiece is almost certainly Italian, the carpet was probably made in Tournay and the chairs in Amsterdam, the cut-glass chandelier and the candelabra are English and the silks used for the wallhangings and the
