Bhupala raga, a leaf from a Ragamala series. A royal figure seated on a cushioned throne, holding a flower. He is flanked by yaktail whisks (chamara)-bearing ladies and courtiers. At the top of the frame there are verses from the unpublished Sanskrit poem Ragasagara (c. 17th century with later additions), written here in Telugu script.
