Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a two-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular black, wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. The sheer rises at the stern. One wale and a sheer rail are indicated, both are painted black. The bow features an empty beakhead with two cheeks. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is S-bottomed and painted white below the waterline. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

Two brigs were constructed after this design. The 6-gun brig Havik, 75 feet long, was built by Pieter Glavimans Jansz (1768-1850) in Rotterdam from 1806 to 1807. It served from 1814 to 1816 with the Dutch squadron in the Mediterranean and was sold out of the service in 1828 at Hellevoetsluis (also see model NG-MC-366). The 6-gun aviso brig Ketty was built by R. Dorsman in Amsterdam in 1806 and was sold out of service in 1814.
