Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a three-masted vessel, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. The extent of the forecastle and quarterdeck is outlined by ribbands with square hances. The bow features an empty beakhead and a bollard timber. The stern has a round tuck and a hollow counter. The model does not have a taffrail. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The sheer rises slightly towards both ends. One wale and two sheer rails are indicated, all painted black. The hull is S-bottomed and painted white below the waterline. The position of three masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

The 36-gun frigate Prinses Frederica Louisa Wilhelmina, 147 feet long, was built by Pieter Glavimans (1755-1820) in Rotterdam in 1789. It was renamed Brave in 1795. Brave was one of the ships that were captured by the British in Saldanha Bay in 1796.¹¹J.C.J. de Jonge, Geschiedenis van het Nederlandsche zeewezen, 5 vols. and index, Haarlem 1858-62, vol. 5, pp. 236-75.
