Bonaire, 45 metres long, was built by the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij Fijenoord in Rotterdam from 1876 to 1877 for service in the Dutch West Indies. It was converted into a receiving ship in Hellevoetsluis in 1902, turned over to the nautical college in Delfzijl in 1923 and renamed Abel Tasman.¹¹A.J.
