In leer gebonden goud-op-snee boekje in cassette. Op de eerste bladzijde het Rijkswapen, op de volgende bovenstaande tweede opschrift. Op de daaropvolgende bladzijden de handtekeningen van de drie leden van het Japanse gezantschap in Nederland van 1862, telkens één handtekening op de rechterpagina, en de vertaling en functie in het Nederlands op de linkerbladzijde. De handtekeningen zijn van Takeno-Utsi Simodske no Kami (Vorst van Simodske), eerste ambassadeur (Ljoo-si); Matsu-daira Iwami no Kami (Vorst van Iwami), ambassadeur-adjunct (Fu-si); Kyo-kok Noto no Kami (Vorst van Noto), toeziener (Metske). De rest van het boekje is leeg.

Entry

Leather-bound gilt-edged booklet in a slip case.

On the first page the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is depicted, on the following page the second inscription quoted above. On subsequent pages are the signatures of the three members of the Japanese delegation to the Netherlands in 1862, one signature for each right-hand page, with translation and function on the left-hand page. The signatures are of Takeno-Utsi Simodske no Kami (Prince of Simodske), the First Ambassador (Liu-si); Matsu-daira Tuami no Kami (Prince of Tuami), the Vice Ambassador (Fu-si); Kyo-kok Noto no Kami (Prince of Noto), and the Supervisor (Metske). The other pages are left blank.

The album was made in honour of the visit of the first Japanese delegation to the Netherlands and to the Navy Model Room in The Hague in 1862.2HNA 2.12.01 Min. Marine, Exh. 31/7/1862 N23. The delegation also visited the Royal Mint in Utrecht, for this occasion a commemorative medal was struck (NG-MC-1122).
