Osendo(?) was probably an occasional amateur designer.


Entry

A view of a pine beach with the trees to the left; the tidemark crossing the sheet diagonally, marked by numerous shells.

The dating of the print is given in a vertical cartouche at top right, reading 'The Pleasures of the New Dragon Year', Tatsuno shunkyo, i.e., 1796.

One poem by Shofutei Fumio. The poem refers to the melancholy that is dispelled by the anticipation of New Year.
