Model van een reddingboei

Houten model van een reddingboei, lichtrood geverfd, en twee details op ware grootte, een nap (NG-MC-1389-1) en een loden gewicht (NG-MC-1389-2). De boei is een halfronde band, zeer dik. Op de boven- en onderkant zijn twee gebogen schuiven aangebracht, die gesloten de band tot een volle cirkel vervolmaken. Op de buitenkant van de band zijn vier nappen met handvaten aangebracht, die met een bajonetsluiting vastgezet zijn. Een van deze nappen is op ware grootte toegevoegd. Het heeft een handvat en een hol koepelvormig deel met een gat aan de platte zijde, dat van binnen met leer is afgesloten. Het cylindervormige loden gewicht heeft een gat door en door met een schoefklem voor kabels of dergelijke.

Wooden model of a life buoy, painted bright red, and two full-scale details, a pad and a lead weight.

The buoy is a semi-circular belt and very thick. On the upper and lower side two round sliding bars are fixed, which can be rotated to close the belt to a full circle. On the outside four pads with handles are fixed, which can be released by means of a bayonet catch. One of these pads, full scale, accompanies the model. It has a handle and a hat-shaped hollow pad with a hole at the flat side, covered inside with leather. The cylindrical lead weight has a hole straight through with a screw pincher for cables or the like.

The operation of this buoy is unclear; no historical information concerning this model has been found.
