Oval Wine Bowl with a Green Glaze
anoniem, c. -206 - c. 220
This pottery is covered with a dark green glaze that has degraded to a silvery white in places. The kiln where it was fired is not known, but such objects seem to have been produced solely in northern China. The dark green glaze has a high lead content and is thus poisonous. This wine bowl was buried in a tomb as a ritual object.
