Ensemble Consisting of a Dress and a Jacket, anonymous

silk, h c.cm × w c.cm More details

This kind of ensemble consisting of a dress with a matching jacket was called a complet and was very popular in the 1930s. While the pieces of an ensemble were paired, they did not have to be made of the same fabric. This floral tulle dress is trimmed with plain black crêpe, the same fabric of which the jacket is made. As a result the items of clothing create a unified entity.
