Pair of vases, Het Jonge Moriaanshooft (attributed to), c. 1685 - c. 1690

vase, h 46cm More details

The shape and size of these two vases suggest that they stood in a garden. Depicted are the mythological figures of Vertumnus and Pomona (on one side), and Flora with her cornucopia (on the other side). Vertumnus is the god of the seasons, who seduced Pomona, the goddess of fruit trees; Flora is the personification of spring and flowers.
