Ed van der Elsken, 1959
Van der Elsken’s photo book Jazz, with its outstanding rhythmic layout, was published in 1959. The photographer produced the layout and cover. This is the photograph he selected for the cover of the German edition. He chose another image for the Dutch edition but did keep the stencil-like font at the upper left.
