Een succesvol man als De Flines genoot wereldlijke Roem, hier afgebeeld met een globe die symboliseert dat zij alomtegenwoordig is. Het beeldje in haar hand en de kinderen met de lauwerkrans en palmtak op de voorgrond verwijzen naar de Overwinning, die roem oplevert. De jonge Hercules rechts verbeeldt de Dapperheid. De vrouw die boven zweeft bazuint de goede faam rond.

    Allegorie op de Roem. In het midden zit de vrouwelijke personificatie op een troon met een bol op schoot. Boven blaast de Faam op haar bazuin. Uit een reeks van vijf allegorieën (SK-A-4174/4178), geschilderd in grisaille tussen 1675 en 1683 voor het huis 'Messina' van Philips de Flines aan de Herengracht.
