Portret van Willem Arnold Alting (1724-1800). Gouverneur-generaal (1780-97). Heupstuk, staande naar rechts. Commandostaf in de rechterhand, in de linkerhand neemt hij een portefeuille van een tafel waarop enkele boeken en documenten en een globe. Geschilderd op een koperen plaat, oorspronkelijk gebruikt als drukplaat voor textiel. Onderdeel van een reeks van portretten van de gouverneurs-generaal van het voormalige Nederlands Oost-Indië.
